What therapy services do you provide?
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), I am trained and qualified to diagnose and treat a range of mental health issues. I offer individual therapy for adults aged 18 and older. My services are often referred to as counseling, psychotherapy, or therapy. Please note that I do not provide marriage, relationship, or family therapy.
Who do you work with?
Drawing on my background in higher education and extensive experience with the developmental stage of "emerging adulthood" (ages 18-29), I primarily work with college students, young adults in their 20s, recent graduates, graduate students, and young professionals.
I also occasionally take on clients outside of this age group who are seeking support for issues such as eating disorders, anxiety, people-pleasing, and self-compassion. It’s essential that we feel like a good fit, and I am confident in my ability to address your specific concerns. Booking a free consultation will help us determine if we can work well together.
Please note that I do not work with children and teens under the age of 18.
Do you offer online or in-person therapy?
I provide virtual therapy services exclusively. After many years of offering in-person therapy, I transitioned to an exclusively virtual model in 2020. During this time, I have discovered that virtual therapy offers significant benefits for my clients, enhancing accessibility and facilitating more consistent support, particularly for busy, traveling college students. Many clients have expressed their appreciation for the convenience of virtual therapy, and I have observed its positive impact on their healing journeys.

To ensure a comfortable and effective therapeutic experience, I have invested in high-quality technology. I utilize a secure, HIPAA-compliant online platform that guarantees both privacy and the effectiveness of traditional in-person therapy. Please note that I do not offer in-person appointments.
What are your session fees?
-
$200 per 50-minute session

Payments are due at the time of service and can be made via credit card, debit card, HSA card, or FSA card. An active card must be kept on file during treatment; cash and checks are not accepted.
Can I use my insurance?
Possibly, yes! Many of my clients use their insurance to help cover the cost of therapy. I am not in-network with any insurance providers but provide documentation for clients to submit to their insurance company for reimbursement. Many plans offer out-of-network benefits, so I encourage you to contact your insurance company to inquire about your specific benefits.

Navigating insurance can be confusing, so I've created an insurance guide to assist you in understanding this process.

Please note that using out-of-network benefits typically requires a mental health diagnosis, which will be part of your medical records and may be accessed by certain employers and life insurance companies. Your insurance may also limit or deny coverage for mental health services; this is determined by your insurance. I aim to be transparent about this information to empower you to make informed decisions that are the right fit for you.
How does appointment schedule & frequency work?
Current clients have access to my calendar and can schedule their own appointments. I value your time and investment and encourage you to consider your availability, goals, and finances when deciding whether to schedule weekly or biweekly appointments. Less frequent sessions may not provide the consistency needed to achieve desired therapeutic outcomes.
How long does therapy last?
My goal is to support your growth and ultimately help you transition out of therapy. Progress towards your goals depends on various factors, including session frequency, your willingness to engage, and openness to growth. The length of your treatment will be tailored to your unique needs.
Please note that I do not work with children or teens under 18.
Will you write me an ESA letter?
In line with the recommendations of the American Counseling Association and other professional counseling organizations, I do not provide letters for emotional support animals (ESAs). If you require documentation for an ESA, I recommend reaching out to your doctor for assistance.
What is your philosophy reguarding therapy?
I believe that you are the expert of your own life. My role is to listen openly, ask insightful questions that encourage self-exploration, and provide evidence-based tools that you can choose to use if they resonate with you.
I empower my clients to trust their inner wisdom and compassionately encourage them to take responsibility for their needs, growth, and healing—a gift that will benefit you long after our time together concludes.
Do you only work with people in Michigan?
Yes, I am licensed to practice only in Michigan, and I provide virtual therapy exclusively to individuals who are physically present in the state during their appointments. You do not need to be a resident of Michigan; as long as you are physically located within the state—whether for college, work, or an internship—I can legally provide therapy to you while you are here.
Are you a safe and inclusive therapist?
I am dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all identities within my practice. I provide support and compassion to everyone, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, BIPOC communities, neurodivergent individuals, and people from all backgrounds and beliefs. I firmly affirm your right to bodily autonomy and reproductive freedom.
As a white, cisgender woman, I acknowledge that I have a responsibility to engage in continuous learning and unlearning. I am committed to ongoing training and personal growth, particularly in fostering a safe and welcoming space for my clients.
Do you engage in continuing education?
Yes, as a Nationally Board Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board for Certified Counselors, I am required to complete a minimum of 50 hours of counseling-related continuing education every five years. I prioritize ongoing learning to stay current with best practices, ensuring that I provide high-quality, evidence-based, ethical, and effective therapy for my clients.
Why did you become a therapist?
When I was a kid I I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up, however I've always I known that I wanted to help people. As a first generation college student, I felt clueless about choosing a major and was undeclared for a long time, hoping to eventually figure it out.
During my college years, I worked as a Resident Advisor (RA), which ignited my passion for student leadership and connection. I particularly enjoyed engaging with freshmen who often felt alone and overwhelmed, much like I once did. Supporting these students brought me immense joy; I even joked that I wished I could be an RA for life.
One day, it struck me that my favorite aspect of being an RA was guiding students through a pivotal and challenging time in their lives. This realization inspired me to pursue a career as a therapist, where I could continue to support this population on a deeper level.
Each day, I leave work with a smile—a privilege for which I am profoundly grateful. I genuinely love my job and care deeply for my clients. It is an honor to be entrusted with their stories and to be part of their healing journeys.
Why did you name your practice "Bloom"?
Flowers have always been a way my family shows up for others. My grandmother was a florist and created floral arrangements for special occasions, while my dad, who works at a funeral home, takes great care in selecting flowers to honor those who have passed. From birthdays and graduations to anniversaries, my family has always celebrated life’s big moments with flowers, making them a symbol of both service and celebration in my family.

When I named my business "Bloom," it felt natural to continue that tradition of honoring growth, resilience, and transformation. Just like flowers, we grow through seasons of challenge and change. Sometimes, the most beautiful blooms appear after a storm. In my work as a therapist, I’m here to support and celebrate my clients as they bloom into their fullest selves.
